Explosion Proof Phone 

 
This is a fully functional telephone.  The main body is a cast aluminum explosion-proof control panel used for alarm switching in a hazardous explosive environment.  The red switch (top front) is a push-on/pull-off for engaging the phone or hanging up.  The keypad is fabricated from heavy-duty aircraft bolts.   The receiver is constructed of stainless steel pipe fittings and pneumatic control valves serve as the ear-piece and microphone.  The cord is a 25-foot heavy duty power cable with strain relief connectors.  The unit can be wall-mounted or can sit on rubber feet on desk or table.  The ringer is inside the explosion-proof motor-lead box on the top of the unit.  The outer finish is acid washed metal and brushed stainless steel.
