Ambient Assault Creation

 
A square of 3/4"-thick high-density polyethylene (HDPE) board supports a series of cast-aluminum explosion-proof electrical fittings and boxes.  One contains a dimmer controlled by a gate valve handle.  Rising up from the rear box is a large-volume (300 GPM) submersible pump made of all-stainless steel and polished to a chrome-like finish.  An antique hand-operated drum pump is connected to the stainless steel pump flowing into a hanging teardrop style explosion-proof cage light fixture with frosted glass enclosure.  Painted with high-temp barbecue flat black finish, this lamp provides a variety of lighting levels, for ambient mood lighting or reading.
