Rover

The main body of this whimsical lamp is a vacuum cleaner from the 50's made by Interstate Engineering Corp.  The body  is all cast aluminum.  The legs are sculpted from various metal hardware, and attached where wheels once existed.  The emblem plates are stainless steel with custom screen-print images.   Inside the body is a flickering blue light set before a reflector that shines through the front air vents.  The main light is activated by a heavy-duty kick-switch on top, while the interior flicker-light has a toggle switch below.  The lamp head assembly is constructed from an Electrolux vacuum floor polisher, with a stainless reflector and tank float ball.  The outer finish is blue metallic Hammerite on the body and lamp head, with gray powder-coating on the landing gear.  Designed for table-top use as show or an extended neck is available for a floor operation.
