Pillars of Mercy

The cast aluminum base to this piece is the back half to an explosion-proof electrical control panel.  Rising out of the base are two submersible water pumps made of stainless steel, and polished to a chrome-like finish. Joining the effluent of the pumps at the top, is an explosion-proof junction box in cast iron. There is a caged safety-style light at the top of the lamp with a frosted glass globe over the bulb. The intensity of the light is controlled with a dimmer operated by a gate valve handle mounted in the base. The finish on the piece is Hammerite paint (black on the base, and silver on the Junction box). Light from the unit is great as mood light as well as for a living area.
